The coolest visit eva!

Friday 29th Feb 16 50-Time to run to the train station to be in time to meet Cath and Al. wouldn't want to leave them standing out in the cold weather...but wait...the nana's decide they'd rather miss Stonehouse station and stop at the next one, leaving me standing at the station for 30min instead. We still made it in time for supper which was Cath's top priority of course :) The rest of the night just consisted of meeting the other gaps, booking a flight for myself, mom and david to Cork in Easter, drinking tea and watching a movie . (10 things I hate about you) Luckily Lynne had boarding duty, so I could sleep in her bed instead of on the couch...Cath and Al took mine of course.

Saturday was an enjoyable day for us! We went into Cheltenham for a wee look around and to spend the day in the sun. We started off just walking around taking a look at the lil shops and buildings, but it soon turned into an analysis of the different coffee shops and restuarants which looked inviting...there are so many eating places in Cheltenham! And they all look so cute and old. We ended up buying some grub from Tesco, finding a nice bench (in the sun) and making some lunch a la lap...it's the best way to do it.

Primark was a good shopping venue! Cath and I got some headbands which we are still trying to find out how to wear properly so they don't just slide off the back of your head...I got some socks and a belt and cath got some cool slipper socks that are cows and have a cute lil bell on them :)
Having missed the train back home cus it leaves 15min earlier on the weekends (which of course no-one had told us), we found a sweet little pub which had about 5TV's!! Managed to watch about 15/20min of the Bulls Sharks game which gave a touch of home. All we were missing was a lekker braai bru! Cath tried to perfect her photo pout and kissy lips on the way home :) was rather funny to watch! (as seen in the photo)

For such a little village, Stonehouse does have a lot of eating places! However, none of them seemed to appeal to Alan's taste buds...mainly because they're all take away places and we wanted to sit. We tried the pub, which serve really nice evening pub grubs, but they would only be able to take our order after a 45min wait! Are you crazy?!?! 45min!! and then only order! no thanks. So off to the good ol, faithful Pizza Planet. Got a really good deal there-2 burgers, a pizza, 3 fries (that's packets, not single fries for those that are going to chirp-dad) and a 1.5L coke for £13.50. Not too shabby! Being the lovely person I am, I bought the meal. And no, I didn't only offer after finding out how cheap it would be.

Sunday morning: time for church. Mass was very long, but I suppose after the trek of a walk to get there, you might as well get your money's worth. And of course brunch only gets better the hungrier you are!! Brunch is the bomb!! Sausage, egg, bacon, toast, museli, yoghurt, cereal, fruit, muffins. Wow-its worth waiting the week for!

After brunch, Cath and I managed to make a banana bread by gathering up some utensils. Kinda guessing how much butter, flour, sugar we were putting in. And of course there was no sift so we kind of had to play around with the flour to try put some air in it :) it turned out to be the best banana bread i've ever had! Crusty top and moist inside. It was pretty amazing! Guess you'll all just have to take my word on it though.

Sundays are always football with the boarders days, so at about 3pm we go down to the astro and play a lil game with them. Played a bit of touch rugby before football this week, which was a cool change. While the others played football, Cath and I hit the hockey ball around for a bit. It was so much fun tapping the ball in the air and then playing 'tennis' (tapping the ball on our sticks and passing to eachother after a certain amount of taps each) Managed to reach our goal, after several attempts, of doing a pyramid. Our sticks were a bit short for us, so we ended up hitting a few freshies too :) And just incase we hadn't had enough, we then headed for the sport's hall to play badminton. That was so much fun!! Lynne, Cath, Al and I set up a court and were just paying around. At one point, all three of us were on one side, playing against Lynne :) Another time, Alan was sitting on the floor just cus no-one was hitting to him...hehe.

Cath and I watched Pocohantus and Lion King for old times sake..Just around the river bend...I laugh in the face of danger... :) can never get enough of those disney classics!!

We thought it would be a nice idea to make supper for ourselves, so we got fahitas, chicken, philidalphia, peppers, onion, garlic bread and cooked up a storm! It was good! It was really good!! Sat on the floor while eating it :) Then played a couple games of UNO before enjoying some condensed milk for dessert. Random, but satisfying.

Monday morning was just packing, walking down to the station and saying goodbye for another month. Was really awesome having them here for the weekend! All the other gaps also enjoyed meeting them and having them to stay :)

Cool! There's a writer in you trying to get out. ("Help, help - I'm a writer... i'm trapped inside Emma!") And it looks like you can spell too - which is something I never quite mastered. Great blog, cool photies - no-one will want to read MY blog now!!! :(

Keep it up girl!
