Lynil's 18th b'day

It all started on the night of the 9th...Ben's friend Duncan, James' friend Dave and of course, Kelly had come to join in the festivities. It had finally come, the big day, Lynil's 18th!!

After getting off early and rushing back from boarding duty at a bout 9pm, Kate and James ran into a flat of madness! Loud music, 7 people, some getting dressed, doing hair, make-up, others playing kings. Everything was a bit of a rush cus the train was leaving at about 9 50 (and its about a 15min walk to the station) but we managed and all 9 of us got to the station on time. We decided to chance the fact that they might not check tickets at this time of night, so we went without buying them at the machine. Lucky we did cus it turned out that the train we were suppose to get on2 came and went without us realising that we were standing on then wrong platform, happily waving it off. So off to the pub while we thought of plan B...we had to take taxi's. More expensive, but our only other option.

Kelly, Dave and I managed to catch a lift with the pizza delivery guy who happened to be going to Cheltenham to do his last delivery. He didin't stop talking the whole way about everything and nothing, but he dropped us at the place he thought was the best. We met up with the others and decided where to go (going on what we had seen, heard of and been told by our taxi drivers) We tried so many different places-Yates, Mbargo, Blush, Sub tone, bar 13. Mbargo was where we went first. It was quite a nice place. It was also the place where Lynne's memory started fading, if you know what i mean...13 rejected us cus Lynne would only be allowed in on the Sunday night (it was only Saturday night/Sunday morning)-what idiots!! Anyway, Sub Tone has about 4 levels each with different music types etc which is quite cool, but it wasn't such a great vibe. Yates was full of weirdos!! Also kinda an old people's place I think. Blush was probably the best place we went. There was just a nice vibe, good music and we were all jamming together.

After partying away, food was the next thing on our minds-a good night out always needs a satisfying meal to finish it off, but nowhere seemed to be open! (not suprising at 3 30 in the morning) So we settled for toast, 2 minute noodles, tea, fruit, basically anything we could scrape together back at home... It had been a good night and everyone quickly curled up in bed or on a couch or the floor...

The next morning, I did Lynne's morning duty in the boarding house for her for obvious reasons :) This meant basically just toasting crumpets and flapjacks for the boarders. When I got back up to the flat, the b'day girl was awake, so we left her a trail of milkybar puddings...leading to the lounge where we had all her presents on the couch. There were chocolates, chocolates and more chocolates. hehe. There was also a man united calendar, scarf and big wine glass with 18 on it and of course lots of cards. She was really happy which was good! That night we all went out to the Indian place cus Lynne loves Indian food. It was really good and everyone was stuffed afterwards! We all enjoyed the weekend. James (kinda gappie/member of staff, got her a b'day cake which she named sicero) 1 b'day down, 5 to go :)
